Do I need a tax Id number or business to buy from AFD?
No, our site is open to the public. We do offer the trade retailers/businesses discounts, If you are in the trade you will need to register. A valid trade license is needed. Please visit Florist / Trade Discount page and follow instructions.
How much in advance do I need to place my order?
You are able to place your event order with us up to 6- months in advance. We do ask our customers to please allow 7-business days between placing their online orders and their delivery date. AFD highly recommends to schedule your delivery at least 48 hours before your event or 72 hours if located in a rural delivery area. This will allow time for any carrier delays and give you time to work with your flowers and let them hydrate fully.
What if the flower I choose is not available at time of shipping.
At AFD we work closely with our growers to assure that products will be available for the delivery dates of our costumers order. But we must keep in mind we are working with Mother nature and in certain times of the year there may be high demands, crop failures or weather conditions that could prevent the availability of the flower you have ordered. Our staff of experienced floral experts will then fine a similar flower or color to match your requested product. Since in most cases shortages are not know till the same day of shipping, AFD reserves the right to make substitutions without any type of notification to the customer. If the product is one of a kind and cannot be substituted an email will be sent to the customer on the day of shipping or 24-hours before.
Does AFD accept Checks?
We do accept checks through Pay Pal e-check system, just click pay with pay pal fill in all information requested its easy as 1,2,3.
What type of payments does AFD accept?
AFD accepts all major credit cards. ( Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express, Paypal )
We aslo accept personal checks through Pay Pal.
When will my order be billed to my credit card?
AFD shopping cart charges all orders once placed, all orders are specially reserved for the customer and cancelation penalties will apply. Please read company policy for cancelation penalties and non-refundable time period.
I would like to make changes or add to my order already placed?
All changes and add-ons must be made in writing via email to afdhelp@americanfloraldistributors.com if ordering more flowers/items we will send you a pay pal invoice for difference. If changes or cancelation of any item on order a fee of 20% will be charged for items removed or changed if less then original items.
Add-ons / changes can only be made 7-business days before your requested delivery date.
What If I have to cancel my order after placed?
Once you place your online order it is charged to your credit card and also sent directly to our growers to reserve the flowers for your order. For this reason if order must be canceled we do need to charge a cancelation fee of 20% of order total since we also get charged by our growers a fee.
If you do decide to replace your order for a future delivery date AFD will apply your cancelation fee towards your new order, just email us with your original order # that was canceled.
Cancelation can only be made 7-business days before your requested delivery date.
Why AFD does not offer phone number for contact?
Our live chat system is state of the art, and our operators will be avialable during business hours for any concern you may have. The chat system keeps records of all written conversations with each customer and the customer on their side can also make a print out of their conversation or email themselves a copy for their records. This is very benificial for our customers so they can go back and review if ever needed.

Do prices include shipping and where does AFD ship to?
AFD ships nationwide Cont. USA and Alaska / Hawaii / Puerto Rico and Now Shipping to Canada,
On orders over $200.00 US Dollars shipping is Free for the cont. USA. Orders below $200.00 US Dollars there will be a fixed shipping charge of $40.00 US Dollars.
AFD-Delivers on Tuesdays,Wednesday and Thursday Via Federal Express or UPS overnight, We do not recommend deliveries Friday or Saturday since the order may not reach you on time if any type of carrier delay. NO deliveries on Monday since carriers are closed on Sunday, all flowers are shipped overnight next day delivery.
**** Please keep in mind AFD can not deliver the day after a holiday since carrier services are closed on holiday, AFD will adjust date depending on holiday if needed to, please make sure always ask for your delivery date 3-business days prior to your event incase we need to adjust or any type of carrier delay.

Delays are not often but they do occur sometimes. AFD recommends receiving your flowers 2-3 Business days (If you live in rural area 3- Business days needed) prior in case of such delays. AFD packages all our flowers to hold well for 48-72 hours while intransite in case of any delays. After AFD growers gives your order to the carrier usually (FEDEX, UPS) customer must contact carrier for shipment update. AFD will send customer email with carriers tracking number information needed for tracking order. In some cases customer will have more then one tracking number since different products are shipped from different locations.
If my order has a carrier delay will my flowers be fine?
If your flowers are delayed they will be a little more dehydrated and will need to be processed ( Cut and put in water as soon as possible ) they will perk up within several hours. If you still encounter any problems you must follow AFD claims policy.

I am not sure how to work with fresh flowers?
Flower are much hardier then most customers think. Flowers regular chain of distribution is usually almost two weeks ( Grower, Importer, wholesaler, florist, customer ) AFD cuts the chain of distribution, we ship directly from our growers to our customers that means you the customer gets days of added vase life making them very hardy and easy to work with. Following our care instructions will assure you fresh beautiful flowers for your event.
How will my flowers be packed?
These products are packed directly at the grower in protected bunches and carton boxes designed to hold the quality of your product during shipping. Flowers are shipped directly from our coolers and will easily hold while intransit for 48-hours or longer. (Flowers must be cut and hydrated once received for them to perform and look their best)
What is a growers bunch?
Growers sometimes do not go by stem count but by volume or weight. This is due to that some flower varieties have many flowers per stem or volume ( Ex: Babies Breath ) few stems but large bunches since they have so many flowers most growers go by weight.
What do I need to do to product when received?
First thing is to check your order to make sure your order is as requested. If for any reason something is not to your satisfaction please contact our customer service operator within AFD policy period. AFD claim/exchange policy. Operator link on homepage or Contact us 24/7 page, operator will be available during business hours Monday - Friday 10 am - 4 pm Eastern Time. If not during these hours please fill in our customer form, please state order #, when product was received and your concern.
If all is fine and you are happy with your order please view our care Instructions on how to handle and care for your flowers. Care instructions are not sent with the flowers. Please take a minute to review and print for future reference.
Can I pick the colors and variety of flowers I want ?
Yes, Our Customer's can choose and mix the colors they need in most products. The product discriptions will show you what is offered per product.
In each item there will be a section that you can write in a variety name of the flower you prefer. AFD will do all possible to cover your request but does not guarantee the request. We will match the color of requested variety as closely as possible if variety is not available for requested ship date.
Will my pink tulip color match my pink rose color?
Most flowers have the same color range (White, Pink, Yellow, Lavender, Red, Etc) but not the same color tone. Most designers like this since it stays in the same color range of the event but gives life to the floral arrangement with different tones.
Why do I only see 13 roses in each bunch?
To better fit in boxes and protect your flowers during travel, we pack our flowers in two layers, you will have your complete amount when you open your bunch. Remember to always leave the wrapper on your flowers till you cut and hydrate your flowers for at least 6-8 hours.
Do my flowers need to open?
Yes, Our flowers are cut in bud stage and roses are shipped with all their guard petals for protection during travel. (The guard petal is usually discolored or another shade of color and needs to be removed.) Following our care instructions will allow your flowers to open. ( Some varieties do take longer to open then others, this information is listed per flower in our catalog. (Example: Lilies may take up to 3-5 days to open, while some rose varieties will open within a few hours. Most flowers will hold well if handled correctly 5-7 days) Allow at least 24 hours in water for product to start to open and look their best.
Will the flowers look like a gift item?
Since we are wholesalers and ship directly from our growers we do not offer gift type boxes. Flowers themselves make a wonderful gift.
What if I have a claim when will I be refunded?
If after following our claims policies and your claim has been approved by AFD, it takes approximately 3 - 4 weeks for your refund to be processed with your credit card company.
Important all claims must be sent in writing via email afdhelp@americanfloraldistributors.com within 4-hours of receiving your flowers from the carrier, If policy is not followed AFD will not honor any type of damage or wrong flowers sent if not reported within time. (No Exceptions)
